Integrative Physical Therapy for long-term results

Traditional physical therapy teaches PTs to treat the outside of the body (muscles, joints, etc). This is the way I practiced for 5 years and was dismayed by a subset of patients who would not keep their improvements in alignment and posture if they stopped doing their exercises. Some didn’t even fully recover. I was stumped and kept searching. I learned about a 6 month clinical mentorship program by world-famous physiotherapist Diane Lee who taught PTs how to assess the body as a whole. I signed up immediately. This class changed my life and my clinical practice.

There are many layers to the body and it turns out, our bodies aren’t hollow! I started to look at the whole body and my patient outcomes improved. I have continued classes over the past 10 years in visceral mobilization and craniosacral therapy to hone my skills in treating the inside of the body, too. I am just amazed by how changeable our bodies are. I also have to credit my patients for helping me learn so much about the body. They have been some of my best teachers as well. Thank you!
